‘There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.’
Keeping this saying in mind, World Laughter Day was celebrated by the pre-primary wing of Presidium Pitampura. The tiny tots of our school laughed their way to merriment as they celebrated World Laughter Day with a special session where they learnt ‘Laughter Yoga’. They even sang laughter songs and danced to the beat of the songs. The kids also indulged in making smiley masks and throughout the day spread happiness and laughter wherever they went. These giggles added powerful emotions to change the world into a peaceful and positive place. Words like smile, laughter and guffaw were introduced to the students and demonstrated the difference between smile and laughter, laughter and guffaw through enactment. Laughter is the best medicine, and it keeps our mind and heart cheerful. So we must laugh whenever we can.

RECITATION COMPETITION: WHEN THOUGHTS FIND WORDS!

Rhymes are group of lines in a rhythm. They help children experience the rhythm of language. As the children recite rhymes in their young age they learn to speak with animated voices. Taking all these skills to be imparted into consideration Presidium Pitampura organised a Recitation Competition where children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. Students recited amazing and meaningful rhymes by famous poets like Kenn Nesbit, William Wordsworth, Robert Frost etc. Beauty is the realm of poetry, the children truly enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feelings and the music of words.

Dance is a form of expression, a way of speaking one's mind through music. It not only gives us an opportunity to express our thoughts and feelings but also keep us physically fit and sound for life.
Presidium Pitampura enthused with the joy of dancing celebrated World Dance Day' with great zeal and fervour. World Dance Day is dedicated to dance, dancers and dance enthusiasts.
A special assembly was conducted by students to bring forth the importance of dances in our lives. The celebration commenced with the Classical Dance performed by Ms. Cheshtha Bhatia, the dance teacher of the school followed by felicitation of the Chief guest, Mr. Ravi Singh with his Champion Dance Team, a multifaceted personality possessing knowledge of Kathak, Western, Hip-Hop, Bollywood, etc. He has also worked with famous personalities like Badshah, Honey Singh, Anushka Sharma and many more.
Continuing with the colourful and musical celebrations, group of students discussed the reasons behind the celebrations of the day. They talked about how dancing helps to relax and rejuvenate mind. Students presented a special dance fusion of Bhangra, western Dance, etc. The assembly ended with a thrilling and electric performance by 'Champions Troupe’. The splendid event reiterated the fact that dance not only helps in expressing emotions but also relaxes our mind, body and soul.

EARTH DAY: PLEDGING TO MAKE OUR PLANET MORE GREENER & CLEANER!

Every year, we celebrate Earth Day to show our love for our mother earth. The earth does not belong to us, we belong to the earth. The students of Presidium Pitampura came forward with different activities to mark the day. Going green is easier than what we all think which can be obtained by adopting a few changes. Saving resources like water, fuel, electricity, helping others by donating clothes and food and avoiding plastic bags were taken as five finger activity in the morning assembly. Later, the students created a beautiful and creative wall using all sorts of waste material. Informative posters and head gears were also made promoting the ways in which to save our earth. Reduce, reuse and recycle were discussed with the students as we all have to join hands to make earth a better place to live in. Earth day should encourage us to reflect on what we are doing to make our planet a more sustainable. Taking care of the earth is not just a responsibility- it's a privilege and we should all feel responsible to take care of it!

Baisakhi is an extremely important festival of India for a number of reasons. Apart from being important for the farmers as a harvest festival, the festival is of prime importance in Sikhism as the foundation day of Khalsa Panth. This festival was celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm in Presidium Pitampura. Children shared the importance of this festival among their schoolmates and presented an energetic dance performance of Bhangra and Gidda. The assembly was concluded with inspiring words from Nikita ma'am on the historical importance of this festival in Sikhism and other religions.

A healthy lifestyle not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mood!! Rightly said that happiness begins with good health. Presidium Pitampura celebrated World Health Day to focus on the importance of good health. Various health and hygiene games and activities were organised for students in their classes. Students went for a round in other classes with placards about healthy eating habits and the significance of a balanced diet. They were also ready with some punchy slogans about eating fruits, avoiding junk food, drinking water etc. Students also enjoyed solving crossword puzzle involving various healthy foods from our diet. They brought healthy foods for lunch to acknowledge the day. Eat healthy, be nutrition wealthy, as the greatest wealth of this world is health.

The first day of school is the day when the countdown for the last day begins. The most cherished, the most loved part of everyone's life is the first day of school. Presidium Pitampura did its very best to make this day even more memorable. To take the blessings from almighty and commence the session in a positive aura we devoted our morning to a 'havan' invoking God’s blessings. Many fun filled activities were planned by the class teachers to welcome the students to yet another year of learning and enjoying. Beautiful and creative craft items were given to children as a first day present. Various ice breaking activities were done which included getting to tell about themselves by using colours that symbolised variety of questions about their personal traits, hobbies, likes and dislikes. Time capsule was yet another activity where children wrote about things that they have accomplished and they hope to accomplish. The beautiful beginning of a new day came to an end with children looking forward to meet us the next day where new challenges, new energies and new surprises will enthrall them.

Holi is a colourful festival which brings the spirit of joy and enjoyment along with it. Students of Presidium Pitampura celebrated holi with pomp and fervour. Blooming buds of Pre-Primary sang songs, danced and sprinkled gulal and flowers petals on each other. Not only the young Presidians enjoyed but they also welcomed the spring by doing leaf printing on their handkerchief. It was an eco-friendly event where students promised that they would save water and celebrate the festival in an eco friendly way by playing Holi with only flowers petals and herbal colours.

Presidium is committed to foster excellence in education giving equal importance to scholastic and co scholastic areas. It was a beautiful day at Presidium where the students left an indelible mark on their parents and teachers with an amazing performance. The day began with an astonishing performance on the school song which was followed by a musical skit, ‘Dreams Uninterrupted’, where the students showcased the importance of following one's dreams. The presentation focused on telling parents about giving wings to their children's dreams. Everybody is unique and is born with an innate extraordinary quality. Let them all get one uninterrupted chance to chase their dreams with passion and excel in that field with discipline to become what they want to be. Successful presentations are understandable, memorable and emotional. The parents feedback and comments proved that it was indeed a successful presentation!

COMMUNITY HELPERS DAY: INSTILLING RESPECT FOR ALL PROFESSIONS

Community Helpers are part of children's everyday lives. When children interact with community helpers, they communicate and socialize. The best way to understand the work of community helpers is to see them in action. Keeping this in mind, a ‘Community Helpers’ day was organised for the students of grade Prep. The school organised visits to places like parks, hospitals, fire station where the students met with helpers like Doctor, Nurse, Gardener, Cobbler , Fireman, Mechanic and got to know about the world beyond home. The activity was aimed at instilling respect for all professions and to learn to value them better. It was an excellent learning engagement as involvement in real world scenarios makes learning more meaningful and memorable for children.
