Heritage is the most precious possession that we will be passing on to the next generations. 18th April every year is celebrated as World Heritage Day. On this occasion of global importance, students of Presidium held a special assembly with great zeal and enthusiasm. In the beginning, an informative speech made students aware of the importance of this day. It was explained how World Heritage Day, which is called The International Day for Monuments and Sites, was proposed by ICOMOS in 1982 and approved by UNESCO in 1983. Furthermore, interesting facts and information about various significant monuments like Agra Fort, Taj Mahal, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Roman Colosseum, and Statue of Liberty were shared with everyone. Students learned about how they can lend a helping hand towards preserving these reminders of history, as the monuments and heritage talk about the roots of a nation and therefore it is our duty to preserve these monuments to memorize history. In the end, it was concluded that monuments are not for the dead but they are for those who are living, so let us save them and protect them.
