Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the national capital New Delhi and all headquarters. The motto of the Indian Army is 'service before self' and its mission is to ensure national security and national unity, defend the nation from external aggression and internal threats, and maintain peace and security within its borders. Students of Presidium celebrated Army Day with the feeling of enlightenment and realization about the role of a soldier in our lives. Students were filled with patriotic feelings when they made posters of army men. They understood that this day is celebrated to be thankful and express feelings of gratitude towards those who fight for us in harsh circumstances and stay away from their loved ones so that the civilians can sleep peacefully. Students were enrolled to stay united and stand together for the safety of mankind.
